Homemade Kahlua

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 oz. instant coffee
  • 5 cups vodka
  • 3 Tbsp. vanilla

Mix in a crock pot or slow cooker:
2 cups water
4 cups sugar
2 oz. instant coffee

Cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally.  Mixture should get syrupy.  Turn to high and let boil for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.  Mixture should be fairly thick.  Cool.  Skim foam.

Add:
5 cups vodka
3 Tbsp. vanilla

Yield:  approximately ½ gallon.
Note:  If mixture tastes too much like vodka, you may add brewed, cooled coffee.
