1 unbaked pie crust (optional – I don’t ever use one)
1 lb. pork sausage, cooked (for ex., Jimmy Dean regular)
12-oz. pkg. broccoli florets, steamed*
Chopped onions to taste (apprx. 1 small onion or ½ large)
½ lb. or less fresh sliced mushrooms
1 cup grated cheddar cheese (approximate)
1 cup grated Swiss cheese (approximate)
Layer above ingredients in a large pie plate.
3 eggs 1/1/2 cups whipping cream (or ½ and ½)
½ tsp. salt ½ tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. pepper ½ - 1 tsp. curry
2 cloves garlic, pressed Tabasco to taste
Red pepper to taste Thyme to taste
Paprika to taste
Mix above ingredients in bowl, and pour into pie plate.
Bake at 350 for about 1 ½ hours. Let stand 10 minutes. Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated.
*You can get broccoli florets in a microwavable bag, for example, Eat Smart Broccoli Florets, microwave in bag (from Wal-Mart).
