Roasted Chicken

1 Tbs. salt 2 tbs. sugar
¼ tsp. garlic powder ¼ tsp. onion powder
¼ tsp. paprika ½ tbs. lemon juice
½ tsp. ground pepper 1 tbs. dried basil
2 tbs. olive oil 1 large (4-6 lbs.) roasting chicken

Wash and dry whole chicken. Mix salt, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and lemon juice. Add pepper, basil, and olive oil. Rub mixture all over chicken. Place on rack in baking pan. Add water to pan w/out touching chicken. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes per pound.
